Hello KG Parents,
The KG Division teachers and staff members are excited to welcome new students on their early childhood educational journey at Dasman Bilingual School.
I am Victoria D. McNair, the principal of KG and it was a pleasure to serve the KG Division, students, and parents last year. I am originally from Belzoni, Mississippi, USA, but I have been serving the DBS School Community for the last six years in an administrative role. With over 15 years of teaching/educational experience,
I look forward to sharing my expertise in curriculum and professional development with our staff as we continue to grow our students mentally, socially, and emotionally through character building and play-based learning.
Due to Covid-19, this past academic year was unprecedented, but like many educators, we learned new skills that we can now impart to our students for the betterment of their educational experience. It is our goal to teach KG students through student-centered learning, centers, play time, and curiosity time. Our desire as instructional leaders is to focus on reading through the Jolly Phonics Program and a leveled readers for all KG students.
This year, we will implement a Multi-Sensory Playroom (MSP) where students can explore, self-regulate, interact socially, and evaluate their learning in real world situations. We will also have a STEM Classroom where students will be exposed to robotics, coding, engineering, science, and mathematics through hands-on manipulatives, activities, and experiments. Nevertheless, writing and numeracy will still serve as a base for learning and building a solid foundation for elementary.
We look forward to stimulating lessons, social and cultural events, eco-friendly activities, and overall student growth this academic year.
As KG Division, we hope to be the type of professionals who listen, build relationships, motivate others, cultivate a team mentality, lead by example, and always have the best interest of our students at heart.
